Donald Trump to George Stephanopoulos: You're Co-Opted By Obama Minions!

Things got awfully heated on Good Morning America yesterday as Donald Trump discussed his potential presidential run with ABC's George Stephanopoulos.

In short, George took him to task and the Donald didn't appreciate it.

Stephanopoulos mentioned that some Republican heavyweights call him a “flawed messenger for the party” and “a joke candidate.” Why do they think this?

By continuing to question President Obama’s birth certificate and citizenship. Trump replied by ... going off about Obama's citizenship. You gotta see this:

As the two men argued back and forth on the topic, an increasingly agitated Trump accused George of being “co-opted” by the President and his “minions.”

He stressed that the "birther" issue is “not a big focus of my campaign.” Kind of hard to believe, since he brought it up again, and again later in the interview.

Stephanopoulos asked if he would release tax returns. “Maybe I’ll do the tax returns when Obama does his birth certificate,” the real estate mogul replied.

A California Republican who e-mailed a racist "family photo" of President Barack Obama superimposed as a chimpanzee is now facing widespread criticism.
State Assembly member Marilyn Davenport, who later apologized, says she received and forwarded the Obama email because she "thought it was funny."
Not the word a lot of people are using to describe it.
Here's the image the GOP official emailed out to dozens of friends and fellow Republicans, featuring Obama as a baby chimpanzee with its parents ...

The moron who forwarded this has apologized in two statements.

"To my fellow Americans and to everyone else who has seen this e-mail I forwarded and was offended by my action, I humbly apologize and ask for your forgiveness of my unwise behavior," the 74-year-old Davenport wrote.
"At the time I forwarded the e-mail, I didn't stop to think about the historic implications and other examples of how this could be offensive."
"I would never do anything to intentionally harm or berate others regardless of ethnicity. Everyone who knows me knows that to be true."
Ostensibly, this was part of a joke tying into the ongoing Obama birth certificate controversy. But this is taking it pretty far over the line.
Despite the apologies, Davenport, who in 2009 defended a former mayor in California for sending a similarly racist e-mail about Obama, claims to have received threats since her "Internet joke" gained national attention.
She's also been slammed with calls for her to step down.
"When we send communications to our fellow elected officials it is a public action that reflects on the sender, the recipient, and this committee," GOP chairman Scott Baugh, who called the racist e-mail "despicable," said Monday.
Rev. Al Sharpton said that Davenport needed to "go immediately."

Sarah Palin Backs Up Donald Trump, Obama "Birther" Crusade

In February, Sarah Palin said the "birther" issue - whether President Obama was really born in the U.S. - was a "distraction" from more important issues.
Over the weekend, though, Palin defended real estate mogul Donald Trump's recent attempts to raise doubts about Obama's citizenship, saying:
"I appreciate that the Donald wants to spend his resources on something that so interests him and so many Americans, you know more power to him."

Perhaps fueled by Trump's rise in the polls, former Alaska governor's remarks on Sunday seems to signal a shift in her opinions on the "birther" issue.
"Obviously there is something that the president doesn't want people to see, that he sees going to great lengths to make sure it isn't shown," she said.
"And I think that's perplexing for a lot of people."
The issue is perplexing from either perspective.
Long ago, the president released a certificate of live birth which many non-partisan watchdog groups say definitively proves he was born in the U.S.
"It's kind of ludicrous at this point," Dr. Chiyome Fukino, the former director of Hawaii's Department of Health, said in a recent interview with NBC.
Fukino says that he has reviewed Barack Obama's birth certificate more than once and said that "birthers" and other doubters will never be satisfied.
Even Bill O'Reilly has called out Trump for his grandstanding, while others, such as John Legend, have alleged that "birther" allegations are racist.

Bobby Titcomb, Obama Golfing Pal, Busted For Soliciting Prostitution

Bobby Titcomb, an old Hawaii schoolmate and longtime golfing buddy of President Barack Obama's, was arrested for solicitation of prostitution.
The bust took place in Honolulu, which is part of the United States.
Titcomb, who hosted the Obama family at his Waialua home over the holidays this winter, was one of four people arrested in a sting operation

The crime, which allegedly took place Monday, is a misdemeanor that typically carries a $500 fine, as well as probation and up to 30 days in jail.
Obama and Titcomb attended the private Punahou School in Honolulu together in the '70s and have been friends ever since. Well, until this.
Who knows how the Prez will react to his pal joining THG's celebrity mug shots gallery. He could do something nuts like shut down the federal government.

President Obama Announces Campaign For Re-Election; Republicans Unmoved

President Barack Obama is running for reelection in 2012. That comes as no surprise, but the chief executive made the announcement official this morning.
Declaring that he remains wholly “focused on the job you elected me to do,” Obama announced his bid for another term in an email (with video) to supporters.
Hours later, several possible Republican presidential hopefuls (none has officially declared their intent to challenge him) used this news to criticize him.

Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney Tweeted @barackobama: "I look forward to hearing details on your jobs plan, as are 14m unemployed Americans."
Romney's comment highlights a point about the shaky economic recovery that Democrats acknowledge could be a vulnerability for the President.
Another likely candidate, former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, responded with a dramatic video - a trademark of his nascent presidential campaign.
“How can America win the future when we’re losing the present?” it asks. “In order for America to take a new direction, it’s going to take a new President.”
