On Friday evening, Kareena Kapoor drove down all the way from Pune to Mumbai for shooting her televised act for an award ceremony. What should have ended in a few hours took them forever, thanks to Priyanka Chopra.

Bebo finished with her make-up and hair and arrived on the stage to see that it was already occupied by Priyanka Chopra. She had to wait for four hours before she could actually shoot her performance.

A source present at the awards revealed, “Kareena landed at Yash Raj Studios around midnight; she found that the stage was occupied by Priyanka. She waited patiently for sometime. On spotting her, PC came down from the stage and told her that she could not give the stage until 1 am (although Kareena was assigned the stage at 12 am).”

PC continued to rehearse till 4 am, by that time, the exhausted Kareena had left for home.

The next morning, Kareena asked her manager Zahid to cancel the shooting (with Salman for Bodyguard), which was scheduled on Saturday in Pune and then came back to the studio to finish her song.

Normally, the fiery Bebo would have flared up because she was kept waiting for more than four hours. Although, she was smarting with humiliation, she maintained her cool. Later, she gave a call to the organizers and gave her piece.

They explained it to her that because of some technical problems, Priyanka’s act took a longer time.

PC’s spokesperson said, “Priyanka was not aware that Bebo had to wait for hours. Not that I am aware of. Priyanka had a long act with many changes.”

Bebo remained unavailable for comment.

Lara Dutta to star in Don 2

Lara Dutta will be essaying the role of Shahrukh Khan’s moll in Don 2, the role that Eesha Koppikhar played in the original. Meanwhile, Priyanka Chopra will essay the role of leading lady in the movie.

Icy winds started blowing the minute Priyanka landed on the Berlin airport. An insider revealed, “Lara was already there a week before PC. The two barely exchanged hellos with frosty smiles before they directed their warmth to SRK and the director Farhan Akhtar.”

These two beauties have had a long history. The two were crowned as Miss Universe and Miss World in the same year. They both started their career with the same movie Andaaz. Lara portrayed a role of grieving widow and had the author backed role, but it was Priyanka who walked away to stardom and the plum assignments with Khiladi No.1, Akshay Kumar. Since then, Lara has steered clear of working with PC, sources say that she was hesitant to sign Don 2 as well.

When Farhan assured her that he would flesh out her role, only then she agreed to sign the film. Also, SRK has a soft spot for Mahesh Bhupatis latest girlfriend, ever since she acted in his home production Billu, a part that every actress had refused.

Even without their past differences, things between them will never be easy. In Bollywood, whenever any two actresses shoot together, there is stress on the sets. The list of worries is endless; it starts from who has the better room, better fee, better clothes and it ends at better scenes. Piggy Chops was already wary, exhausted, and edgy when she reached Berlin a week after her former friend and now a rival had got comfortable with the unit. Over here Lara clearly has a head start.

These two divas have come face to face after six years and are not ready to act like the long lost friends. The biggest fact that they have uneven roles is enough reason for them to be suspicious about each other. One is promised to be the leading lady and the other has been promised an important role. The insecurities have already started to surface with both the ladies wanting to stay in their own corners for as long as they can.

A close source revealed, “To start with, their roles are unequal. If you see Eesha Koppikhar’s role in Don you will know what Lara is supposed to play. Priyanka has had a stressful dubbing and shoot, which she had to complete in two days. In addition, there was a section in the industry who wanted to demolish her performance in Anjaana Anjaani. She is left in a depressed state of mind. The last thing she would want in Berlin is stressful ambience.”

Just imagine a red plush vintage car, dusty after traveling miles; in it Priyanka Chopra and Ranbir Kapoor, laughing and living it. This is the scene of every alternate day on the sets of Anjaana Anjaani, which is directed by Sajid Nadiawala.

This car is specially designed for the film in which these two actors travel everyday, in fact, they have made this car their second home. Our very own Piggy Chops has named this car as ‘Blush’ and Ranbir has made a special junk food compartment in this car. Priyanka used to play her I-Pod on the speakers of the car and both the actors would spend a lot of time in this car.

A close source said, “The car plays a very important role in the movie and many scenes have been shot inside it. It was previously known as Sunflower, but no one on the sets liked that name.”

The car has suddenly become an integral part of Ranbir and Priyanka’s life on the sets of Anjaana Anjaani. Priyanka was the one who suggested the name ‘blush’ and everyone loved it. Both the actors would treat their car as a human being and most of the crewmembers would join them in that. The two actors decorate and clean the car as well.

When asked Siddharth Anand about this he said, “Yes it is true. It is a vintage car and is called blush. It belongs to Priyanka’s character and it has to go along with her emotions. Priyanka spends most of her time in the car and she hangs her clothes and toothbrush in the car. The car is the third character of the movie and that is why I have used it in the film posters too. Since the car is supposed to be really messy in the film both Ranbir and Priyanka had fun trashing it further, the car traveled from New York to Las Vegas and then to San Fransico. Fortunately, it did not break down.”

The car also had a special space for Ranbir’s books, when the junk food in the car did not take all of the space. Siddharth also said, “Only after making all these additions these two actors feel comfortable in the car.”

Sources report that Priyanka Chopra’s father Dr Ashok Chopra failed to recognize her in her make-up as an old woman. On that particular day, Priyanka was shooting a sequence with legendary actor Naseeruddin Shah in which she was playing a 65-year-old woman. In Saat Khoon Maaf which is director Vishal Bhardwaj’s upcoming film, Priyanka is playing roles for ladies from 17 years old to 65 years old. Professional make-up artists have been hired and specially flown down from Australia to create all these various looks. The make-up artist had done such a fabulous job with Priyanka, that she looked very older with her wrinkled hands and feet, it feels like she had been actually transformed into an old woman.

Saat Khoon Maaf is a Hindi Drama, Black Comedy and thriller film being directed by Vishal Bharadwaj, starring Priyanka Chopra in the title role. Saat Khoon Maaf is based on Susanna’s Seven Husbands a book by Ruskin Bond, about a woman who bumps off her seven spouses. Priyanka says, “My entire family including parents and my grandparents were here for the National awards ceremony. It was a big moment for me and I wanted my entire family to be a part of it. On Saturday, my father’s music album is releasing. So the family has double reasons to be togther.

Priyanka also got the best actress award for her performance in Fashion, and is eagerly waiting for her next movie with Vishal Bhardwaj. The movie is titledSaat Khoon Maaf, where Priyank has seven husbands.

Vishal Bradwaj is putting in all the time and effort for seven different looking husbands for Priyanka’s role in his film Ek Bataa Saath’ . Vishal wants all the seven husbands to look as different as possible. Priyanka Chopra plays the protagonist in the movie and kills all her husbands. A close source revealed, “Vishal wants each actor to look different from the other. So far, he has finalized Mohanlal, Naseeruddin Shah, John Abraham and Arshad Warsi. As is evident from the casting till now, each actor has a distinctive look from skin color, body structure, height, and personality. The script of the film is unconventional.”

The source also said, “Irrfan Khan might be signed to play the fifth husband. During his recent visit to the US, Vishal had zeroed in on a foreigner, who will play one of Priyanka’s husbands.” Vishal Bradwaj wrote Ek Bataa Saath. Vishal liked Ruskin Bond’s Susanna’s Seven Husbands, which the writer developed into his film script.

Priyanka gets animated for Environmental awareness

Priyanka Chopra has become a part of the NDTV Greenathon initiative, which creates awareness about the environment. Piggy Chops is all set to appear in the animated music video for this initiative. This will be the first time when Priyanka will make an appearance in music video. Shankar Ehsaan and Loy, are composing the music for this video. A source says, “The idea of the video was not to be preachy, and force their views upon others but to be entertaining and light.”

Describing the concept further, the source says, “As the center of the campaign, Priyanka is depicted as being in a surreal space, a polluted, dry, barren landscape. She is in despair, looking for a solution. Just then, she sees a green sapling sprouting out of the cracked earth. She hands it to a little girl, an angel who runs into real world and hands the sapling to a bunch of ordinary, carefree young people.”

When asked Priyanka about her experience she said, “It was quite challenging because I was working with a chroma screen, I had to visualize the positioning of everything in my mind and act it out accordingly. The good part was that the NDTV team had a storyboard in place, which allowed me to visualize what I had to do, more easily. It was a first for me.”

Shahid and Priyanka have Split again

Priyanka and Shahid have split-up again. The couple has even stopped following each other on the community site twitter. The both broke-up before Christmas. Piggy Chops was supposed to start shooting for her upcoming movie Anjaana-Anjaani in New York on January 3, but she decided to leave a week in advance for the shoot. She was trying to run away from the memories.

Previously, Shahid has decided to split. However, he realized that Priyanka meant a lot to him. When they thought they wanted to stay together, somehow things started to go wrong between them, and this time Priyanka decided to end their relationship. The break-up is not harmonious. Priyanka and Shahid have always had a rough relationship, and all their common friends knew that they were going to part their ways. Both the people have different and strong personalities, and are completely different from one another, and that has often created arguments and fights.

A close source to the couple reveals, “They had a huge fight before she left for her New York schedule. Shahid brought up the subject of her co-star Ranbir, which irritated her and things got ugly. Earlier whenever there was a tussle, Priyanka would try to make peace. However, this time she was not in a mood to fix it.” Another reason for the break-up was Priyanka’s friendship with Mubina Rattonsey. The source also said, “After Shahid broke-up with Kareena, he got close to Mubina. It was also believed that she was more than a confidante to him but then things went wrong, and they drifted apart.”

Priyanka Chopra was introduced to Mubina through some close friends and they got along instantly. However, Shahid did not like their friendship. He thought that Mubina would influence Priyanka against him. He asked Priyanka to stay away from her but she did not listen to him. Eventually they started to fight more, rather than enjoying with each other, and Priyanka decided to end it.

The famous Bollywood photographer Dabboo Ratnani’s annual 2010 calendar is out. This is the 11^th year where he has captured all the top celebrities for his trademark calendar. The calendar this year will have a black-and-white theme.

Deepika Padukone’s picture looks like she is not wearing anything, since all the body parts you see are bare. Dabboo Ratnani says, “I wanted to make her look sensual, but aesthetic. Last year, I shot her in a sari, so this is in total contrast. She strikes a thinking, dreamy pose, and I have used lighting to match her mood. Normally Bollywood is associated with bright colors. Black and white images are of the bygone eras but I opted for a stark B&W mood in the snapshots is dark but the styling modem.”

Every year, Dabboo starts his preparations in October. Although, he has many interactions with the celebrities for their shots for magazines, movies and portfolios, every year all of them take time out for the calendar. Ratnani says, “The shoot provides the stars a platform to experiment with their looks and styling.” The 2010 calendar includes celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Hrithik Roshan, Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Kajol, Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, John Abraham, Sonam Kapoor and Kangna Ranaut.

The celebrities who are making their first appearance in this calendar are Asin, Farhan Akhtar, Genelia D’Souza and Imran Khan. Dabboo does not want to comment on which star is looking the best. He says, “They are all my friends and go out of their way to cooperate. For me they all look hot.” Dabboo Ratnani is not interested in selling his calendar in the market, it is exclusively made for the Bollywood celebrities.

Uday Chopra on Pyaar Impossible

Uday Chopra is all set to make a comeback with his new movie Pyaar Impossible, he is the scriptwriter for this movie, and he said that the movie is about looks of the lead characters and its impact on their lives. Uday says,”The look is very important for the film because it is all about outward appearances.Pyaar Impossible is about a guy who looks like a geek and a girl who looks like a star. Will they ever be able to get together? So the whole film rests on looks.”

He further added, “So we thought lets have characters who look so unachievable that a girl like this would never look at him and a guy like this would never be able to achieve the girl.” Uday Chopra wrote the script with Priyanka Chopra in mind. He said, “When I first thought of the subject of a beauty and a geek, I knew that this kind of character Priyanka would be able to play brilliantly. She was in my mind while I was sketching the character.” Uday confesses that the storyline has some real life, but the movie is not an autobiography and is not inspired from the reality TV show Beauty and the Geek.

He also said, “It is not autobiographical. Everyone, mostly in his or her schoolor college days, falls for someone unachievable, to whom they cannot express their feelings. It happened with me as well. I borrowed a few of those moments bit the main storyline is fresh and the ideas did not come to me from the reality show ‘Beauty and the Geek’.

Uday Chopra made his debut in Mohabbatein, he also featured in Mujhse Dosti Karogi (2002), Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hain (2002), Dhoom (2004) and Dhoom 2(2006).

Uday had the concept in his mind for a very long time. Only after his movieDhoom 2 he decided to write the story. He also said, “I did not know that I would ever make a film out of it. I had the idea so I started writing the story. There was nothing else to do except a few behind-the-scene jobs, which did not take much of my time.”

When asked why he did not direct the film, he said, “my primary goal was to make a movie with the best of my ability. It was not that I have to make a film, I have to write it, I have to produce it and I have to direct it. So, at that point I thought it is better I do not direct it because I had to focus on too many other things.”
